WMAS is a network of highly experienced individuals working closely together as an integrated team providing medicines advice and information for NHS Wales, and as individual teams within each local health board, supporting local healthcare professionals and their patients.

Porphyria

The WMAS Cardiff centre hosts the UK Porphyria Medicines Information Service (UKPMIS) – a specialist advisory service on the safe use of drugs in porphyria for patients and healthcare professionals in the UK.

For healthcare professionals

WMAS produces medicines-related guidance to support healthcare professionals across NHS Wales.

This includes resources to support the Clinical Community Pharmacy Service and practical information on biosimilars and generic equivalents.

Antiviral Services

Antiviral Services across Wales and the supply of antivirals for COVID-19 for the most vulnerable individuals who have not been admitted to hospital are now co‑ordinated by NHS 111 Wales

WMAS have provided supporting information for members of the public and healthcare professionals across Wales.
